What is the SPECIAL YOU READING CLUB?

The Intergenerational Literacy Enhancement Program (ILEP) that the children call: "SPECIAL YOU READING CLUB" is a project of The Laguna Beach Woman's Club. It is a unique ten-week (60 minutes per week) program that is tailored to the needs of our new readers who are currently in second grade. Whether your child is reading at second grade level or is working at their best to master the skill of reading, this is the perfect time to enhance the foundations that they will be building on throughout their education.

Beginning readers are first taught to read through their senses. In third grade, they are required to learn to objectively read to retain information. This program will help ready them for this transition by enhancing their confidence in their ability to read while instilling a love of reading and writing through the process of being seen, heard, listened to and coached by trained mentor/tutors.

When and where is this program offered?

The next SPECIAL YOU READING CLUB six-week program will always be held Wednesdays for 10 Weeks from 3:15 to 4:30 PM at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach.

Is there a fee for my child to participate in this program?
